![]() ![]() The first is from the pCloud setting window in the sync tab. Now, let’s say you have all your documents stored in pCloud Drive/Documents. We’ll come back to it, and I’ll explain why. I can’t remember if this is default or not. You might also have a “pCloud Sync” folder, with sub-folders like “My Documents” and such. These files are not actually in your computer. Ok, so the way pCloud works is that, by default, it sets up a mapped network drive/folder/mount, usually called “pCloud Drive” in your user/home folder. It’s sounds like you have three main parts of your cloud storage: your documents (which you want synced), your E drive contents (which you want synced), and the rest (which I’ll assume you don’t want synced). Perhaps I can explain this by giving a couple of examples around your scenarios. I hope my questions are clear enough and that I could get some enlightenment. And BTW looking at the pDrive, how do you recognize folders and files that are in live-sync from the ones that are just in the cloud? Plus you get the option to backup to the cloud with pDrive, freeing up space on your local disk. ![]() Again, am I right? Is this the way it is supposed to work?įor my understanding pCloud gives you a 1:1 mirror with the cloud, but not really with other machines. I will see it in the pDrive, falling more or less back to Scenario 1. With pCLoud, if I just sync the folder, from say Work laptop, I will not have it replicated in its default position on Home pc. Using Dropbox, on both machines I move such folder into it and then tell Windows its new location. I want to live-sync the whole disk E: of my work laptop but my Home pc doesn't have a third disk, so where will the files be placed? In the Home pDrive (locally? in the cloud?)? If this is the case I won't have a 1:1 mirrored sync like dropbox. So before making my wallet lighter, I'd highly appreciate a help to clear my doubts from real customers like you guys. ![]() I also got in contact with the Support but their answears is more or less a copy&paste from the FAQ. I did some tests but they didn't help me understand the way the syncing it's supposed to work. I'm actually confused though by the difference between pDrive and live-sync. ![]() I'm currently using Dropbox as my main sync service, but I'm highly interested in the current 75% off promotion on the 2TB lifetime plan. ![]()
